GOPALAKRISHNAN CHAIR PROFESSOR
Nominations / Applications are invited for the selection for the Award of the Gopalakrishnan Chair Professorship at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Madras.
Objectives
The Gopalakrishnan Chair Professorship shall be awarded to distinguished researchers in industry or academia in recognition of their outstanding contributions in research in the area of Computer Science and Engineering.
Endowed Appointments
The Chair Professorship shall be tenable for a period of three to twelve months.
The Chair Professors are expected to provide special input into the teaching and frontier research areas. Endowed Chair Professor honors and nurtures academic excellence.
Benefits
The Award shall carry a fixed honorarium of Rs 40000/-(Rupees Forty Thousand only) per month.
In addition, a sum of Rs 15000/- per annum will be provided for meeting contingency expenditure.
A person invited for Chair Professorship will be provided return airfare when required.
Suitable accommodation on the Campus at nominal rates as applicable to the faculty members of IIT Madras.
The Chair Professor is entitled to Annual Leave Provisions as applicable to other Faculty Members of the Institute.
