Instructional Workshop Talks & Outreach Activities

Some instructional workshops I have contributed to (list will be updated only rarely !).

Three day Faculty Development Programme on "An Excursion to Topics in Algorithm Design" organized by Model Engineering College, Kochi, Kerala, funded by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (Kerala Technololgical University), Dec 28-30, 2017. (6x3 = 18 hours). The design goals of the FDP was to expose the faculty to critical points encountered while teaching algorthims courses ranging from demystifying asymptotic analysis, basic algorithm design paradigms, role of data structures and amortized analysis, theory of computational hardness and finally ending at different algorithmic paradigms considered for coping up with computational hardness.

Three day Faculty Development Programme on "Algorithmics - Power, Limitations and Connecting the Dots" organized by Government College of Engineering, Idukki, Dec 19-21, 2017. (6x3 = 18 hours). By design, this FDP was aiming at presenting how algorithms and other core theoretical courses in CS curriculum (Automata Theory, Data Structures, Formal Languages) are closely intermingled in the main message that they aim to convey.

An interactive session and a technical exposition for students at Model Engineering College.
- Mar 13, 2017 : Session 1 (1.5 hour) - "Connecting the Dots : Algorithms vs Automata Theory Courses".
- Mar 13, 2017 : Session 2 (1 hour) - "Solving Big Mazes in Small Space".

As a part a 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Theory of Computation and Complexity Theory" organized by Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) held at Model Finishing School. Lectured on Day 1 and Day 5 of the program. The other days were handled by colleagues Raghavendra Rao, Krishnamoorthy Dinesh and C. Ramya.
- Mar 6, 2017 : "From Automata Theory to Computability and Complexity" (6 hours).
- Mar 10, 2017 : "Solving Problems in Small Space : Space Complexity Theory" (6 hours).

As a part of TEQIP-II 5-day Faculty Development Prorgam (FDP) on "Mathematics for Computer Science" (Maths4CS) organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Govt Engineering College Bartonhill, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
