Of Work and some Play

This section breifly outlines some academic interests I have pursued. As already said, I cannot simply term these at work, for I find a lot of joy in some of these activities. Hence the title.

Mathematics

This section deals with my interest in Mathematics. An interest bordering along obsession, it has been both a fascinating walk, and a sink for constant futile effort. I also have a slight fetish for the history of mathematics, especially works of mathematicians in the 16th and 17th centuries, mathematicians of the class of Euler*, Fermat, Gauss and Leibnitz.

* As an aside, 2007 was the tricentenary of Euler's birth.

Computers

This section deals with my obsession with Computers, ever since my father bought home our first personal computer, a P1 133 MhZ, 32 Mb RAM Compaq box, back in 1995. This page deals with all that I have learnt from the old computer, and the shock I got when I got reintroduced to the fast developing high tech world when I bought my computer at IIT Madras.

Open Source Software

I have postponed doing this long enough. This page contains my experiences with my Software of Choice - GNU/Linux and Open Source Software
