The project deals with research and development in the topic of: Design of Low-power and Low-latency Architectures and Mechanisms for Data Center Networks to handle Large Volume Network Traffic Loads due to LLMs and Similar AI Workloads Students interested in joining for a Ph.D. program are preferred. A minimum 2-year commitment to work on the project is required; please do not contact us if you will not be able to commit to two years. The initial appointment will be for up to 1 year and extended for the second year, based on the performance in the research project, suitably assessed. After spending six months in the project, project associates may be eligible to apply for M.S. (by Research) or Ph.D. degree in CSE Dept. of IIT Madras, without the need to appear for GATE(CSE) exam, providing other IITM/Dept. of CSE shortlisting criteria are met (see www.cse.iitm.ac.in/admissions). NOTES: (1) Positions will be filled as and when suitable applications are received. (2) Written test and interviews for the selection will be handled online. (3) Candidates may initially join the project online and work from home, after due verification of all documents; Once Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed and travel is permitted to IIT Madras, they MUST physically report to IIT Madras to work on the project.
